Koman’s latest development in The Grove, Chroma, anchors the neighborhood on Chouteau Avenue between Vandeventer and Sarah Street. This corner, historically known as a bustling stop on the St. Louis City and Suburban trolley line, continues as a connecting point for The Grove to Cortex and surrounding areas. Chroma’s newly expanded Chouteau Plaza is uniquely designed to activate this connecting point as a public space for residents and community use. Geometric bollards bookend the plaza and are the first of many planned works of public art to create an open gallery that everyone can experience.
Tony Rocca and his crew at AKT Studios designed, fabricated and installed the bollards at Chroma. They’re slowly changing the landscape of the city, one concrete ball, geometric bollard and planter at a time.
